How Much Do Dental Implants Cost in OKC?

Team Dental Implants

If you’re missing one or more teeth, there are three possible options to replace them: dentures, bridges, or dental implants. Of these options, only dental implants replace the root of a missing tooth as well as the visible portion above the gum line. For this reason, dental implants are the preferred restorative solution for missing teeth. Below, we’ll answer some of the most common questions our patients have about dental implants.

How do dental implants work?

Although there are several different types of dental implant restorations, most are made up of three parts: the implant post that is placed in the jawbone, the restoration that replaces the missing tooth or teeth, and the abutment that connects the two. Dental implants can be used to support a crown, bridge, partial denture, or full denture.

How much do dental implants cost in OKC?

Because there are so many options for dental implants, the cost of dental implants in OKC can vary a great deal depending on the exact type of restoration you need. At OMA, we use the best implant materials to get the best results possible.  The implant cost is between $1500 and $3000.  If you need extractions or bone grafts prior to your dental implant surgery, these costs will need to be factored in as well.  We will also work with your insurance to minimize your out of pocket expenses.

How long do dental implants last?

The dental implants themselves—the posts that are implanted into the jaw—are meant to last a lifetime. With proper care and maintenance, they should never need replacement. The restorations attached to your dental implants may need to be replaced at some point, but these too can last decades with good dental hygiene.

How painful is a dental implant?

The dental implant procedure is not painful at all—we use local anesthetic injections, and often sedation, to ensure that you don’t feel any discomfort while we work. In the hours and days after your surgery, you are likely to have some tenderness and swelling at the surgical site, but this is usually minimal and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers and cold compresses.

Are dental implants worth it?

Yes, patients feel that their dental implants are worth it. They are the only solution that looks, feels, and functions just like a natural tooth. They immediately get you back to chewing and smiling.  From a dental health perspective, implants prevent and even reverse bone loss in the jaw, which keeps your remaining teeth healthy and stable.

What happens if you don’t have enough bone for dental implants?

If you don’t have the bone density needed to support dental implants, we have a few different options to choose from. Some patients who are missing all of their teeth are candidates for All-on-4 dental implants even if they don’t have sufficient bone density for traditional implant-supported dentures. Otherwise, bone grafting or a sinus lift for the upper jaw can be used to augment the jawbone prior to implant surgery.
